It is located at Mandav area of the Dhar district. It is located in the Malwa region of western Madhya Pradesh, at 35 km from the Dhar city. This bastion town on a rocky projection about 100 km from Indore is appreciated for its fine architecture. Mandu is stringed with stone of life and joy. .
On the reign of the Sultans of Malwa, the first of whom named it Shadiabad - 'city of joy'. Each of Mandu's structures is an architectural nugget; some of the splendid construction are Jami Masjid and Hoshang Shah's tomb.
